Universal toilets at Croydon University Hospital
At Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, we believe that privacy and with dignity are integral to the care that we deliver.
That’s why we are converting over 200 single-cubicle, self-contained toilets - previously designated male or female - into universal toilets.
These spaces are open to all patients, visitors, and staff and help us promote a culture of inclusion and privacy.
This initiative reflects our commitment to living our Trust values:
- Professional – delivering services that meet diverse needs.
- Compassionate – caring for everyone with empathy and understanding.
- Respectful – treating all individuals with dignity.
- Safe – providing secure, private spaces for all.
By creating universal toilets, we are taking practical steps to reinforce an environment where everyone feels welcome, supported and included.
A map of all universal toilets across our sites will be available here soon.
