Croydon's Community Diagnostic Centres

Community diagnostic centres (CDCs) have been launched across the country as a ‘one stop shop’ for NHS testing,  working to reduce long waits and provide wider access to the care you need.

Our Community Diagnostic Centres

Our Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) help us provide greater access to diagnostic tests to patients closer to their homes.

They aim to help us reduce long waits and improve healthcare outcomes for patients. They help us prevent the worsening of existing health issues and ensure our patients receive the care they need as quickly as possible, in a place that suits them.

Improving patient care

  • We have expanded existing x-ray, ultrasound and CT scanning services, which support the earlier identification of serious illnesses such as cancer, respiratory and heart disease.
  • Our CDCs help us address unmet patient needs by providing specialist advice on diagnosis
  • We can increase access in areas where it is most needed to make it easier for residents to essential health services
  • CDCs support our ongoing elective recovery programme, to reduce the length of time patients are waiting for care following a referral
