About us
The Croydon ENT department consists of a highly skilled team of doctors and specialist nurses committed to delivering high quality care to adults and children.
The team treat patients who are referred for a number of conditions affecting the ears, nose and throat including deafness, tinnitus (ringing in the ear), ear infections, sinus problems, snoring, voice problems and swallowing difficulties.
The team work closely with Audiology and the Speech and Language Therapy department.
Treatment
ENT surgery is performed at our day surgery unit with the option of laser surgery for certain procedures. In-patient and emergency cover is given by our surgeons at St George's Healthcare NHS Trust.
Out-patient clinics operate at Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital plus dedicated clinics for children at the The Crystal Children's Development Centre.

How to refer
The Croydon Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) department is part of the South West London ENT Network with jointly appointed consultants and an associate specialist and several specialist registrars.
ENT also works closely with the audiology department and the speech and language therapy department.

Service overview
Outpatient clinics operate at Croydon University Hospital, plus the dedicated children’s clinics at the Crystal Children's Development Centre.
ENT surgery is performed in the day surgery unit at Croydon University Hospital with inpatient and emergency care provided at St George's Hospital.
We treat
- Head and neck surgery - diagnostic and treatment for benign and malignant neck lumps, swallowing difficulties etc.
- Laser surgery for benign and malignant head and neck conditions
- Ontology and neuro-ontology clinics for adults and children, diagnosis and treatment of all ear conditions including deafness, dizziness, tinnitus, ear infections, cholesteatoma and deformity of the ears
- Implantable hearing aids available in special circumstances at St George's
- Rhinology, snoring and voice problems - diagnosis and treatment for sinusitis, rhinitis, nasal polyps, nasal obstruction and facial pain
- Snoring and sleep apnoea treatment - in conjunction with the sleep clinic at St George's
- Voice disorder treatment including spasmodic dysphonia with the assistance of neurology (see page xxx) and speech therapy
- Paediatric ontology treatment
