Our annual objectives 2024-25

Our one-year objectives are refreshed annually to monitor our progress and priorities to achieving our vision for excellent health and care for all.

Our objectives are clinically-led and community focused to change the way we deliver care and support our staff with five key priorities, in line with our ambitious five-year strategy for Croydon's NHS.

In 2024-25 we will:

IMPROVING HEALTH & REDUCING INEQUALITIES

  • Continue to identify and implement projects that contribute to tackling health inequalities, including through funding secured from the South West London Integrated Care Partnership Priorities Fund.
  • Maximise the benefits that can be delivered by community hubs and the local partnerships run by the voluntary sector to help prevent ill health - through increasing provision and capacity, and ensuring community initiatives across Croydon are embedded.

PROVIDING HIGH QUALITY CARE

  • Improve the experiences of our patients and local residents by learning from complaints and widening
    our engagement with local communities.
  • Deliver the highest quality of care, ensuring equitable, safe and compassionate care achieving the best
    outcomes for our community.
  • Implement the second year of our Primary Care Strategy.
  • In accordance with the new Estates Strategy, complete improvements to the Trust’s estate and medical
equipment in order to support our work in relation to Elective Recovery, Community Diagnostics
Centres, and decarbonisation of the main hospital site.
  • Develop a new Digital Strategy for CHS, which aims to support our staff to provide high quality care,
enables more accessible and tailored services for the people of Croydon, and joins up services to
    support our most vulnerable.

CREATING A GREAT PLACE TO WORK

  • Continue to implement the Trust’s culture action plan, incorporating work on values, employee health
and well-being, equality diversity and inclusion, and leadership development.
  • Consider options for Workforce Transformation both within services and more widely across the
Trust to deliver one or more of the following - better patient experience, financial savings, employee
    engagement / career pathing.
  • Explore further opportunities for colleagues across our Integrated Community Networks, with
additional skills and new ways of working in multi-disciplinary teams in Croydon and throughout
    South West London.

DEVELOPING SUSTAINABLE FINANCES

  • Achieve the financial plan and targets for 2024/25, including revenue, capital and cost efficiencies - as
agreed by the CHS Board of Directors - whilst maintaining baseline recurrent investment in community
    services.
  • Minimise the level of cash support required through diligent management of funders and suppliers,
requesting cash in line with national requirement when it is required.
  • Maximise funding opportunities that support Trust transformation objectives across revenue and capital.
  • Develop a new Medium-Term Financial Strategy for the Trust, which is aligned with the Trust’s key
    strategic objectives

ACTING AS A LEADER IN PARTNERSHIP

  • Support and contribute to the work of the South West London Acute Provider Collaborative (APC),
such that this brings demonstrable benefits to Croydon.
  • Contribute to the development of a new long-term One Croydon Health and Care Plan, incorporating a
review of how effectively partners work together in the Alliance and can successfully deliver the plan.
  • Continue to represent and advocate for Croydon residents at a regional and national level.
