The first thing many of us do when trying to find our way to a location is to search online or use a GPS map on our mobile phones. With our new digital solution, you can now do the exact same thing here at of Croydon University Hospital.

Whether you’re visiting an outpatient clinic, antenatal appointment or finding your way to the on-site vaccine hub, you will now have new state of the art technology to support you and reduce any unnecessary stress while in the hospital.

CHS Maps will provide you with step-by-step directions from the comfort of your own home, and will make it even easier for to find your route to care.

As we continue to look at how we can deliver innovative solutions that help provide the best possible experience to our patients, visitors and staff, we’re excited to have launched CHS Maps, the UK’s first digital hospital mapping solution.

With such a diverse borough, the Trust has also invested in translated maps, ensuring directions are available in Tamil, Polish, and Urdu, as well as English, with further languages to be added over the coming months.

So how does it work?

Whether you’re visiting a loved one who is staying at the hospital overnight or you’re looking for a specific department for an outpatient appointment, CHS Maps will provide you with the best possible route to get you to where you need to be.

There’s three ways to use the service:

CHS App

You can download the CHS App from either the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and it works in a similar way to other mapping & GPS platforms you may have used. You simply enter your end destination and CHS Maps will work out the route and provide you with real time, blue-dot directions on how to get there.

Website

You can also click here to use CHS Maps on your computer at home or on a mobile device. If you’re using it on your computer you have the option to print the directions before your visit and if you’re using it on a mobile device, you can use it in a similar way to how you would use other GPS solutions when you’re out and about.

Kiosks

We have 15 kiosks placed across the hospital, which you can use to get directions whenever you need them and once viewed, you can email the directions to yourself and begin your journey.

With 15 kiosks and digital screens now installed across Croydon University Hospital, CHS Maps can pin-point visitors to a location within the site and will help them find the quickest route to their care.
