Step forward for dementia care with Croydon Health Charity’s “Move for Good”

Croydon Health Charity has launched a brand new fundraising event – Move for Good – a 10km sponsored walk to raise funds for the borough’s only dedicated NHS charity.
The walk, taking place on Sunday 14 September, invites local residents, NHS staff, families, and supporters to lace up their walking shoes and come together in support of a good cause, with the inaugural event raising vital funds for the Charity’s Memory Lane Garden appeal – a project to create a peaceful, therapeutic garden space for patients living with dementia and their loved ones.
Move for Good will start at Lloyds Park in Croydon, with a scenic 10km route through the borough’s countryside and cityscapes, ending with a celebration at Croydon University Hospital.
Croydon Health Charity is encouraging participants to sign up individually or as a team, set a fundraising target, and enjoy a fun filled day, coming together as a community.
Christina Clynes, Director of Communications and Fundraising for Croydon Health Charity, said:
“We’re delighted to be launching our first challenge event in Croydon, welcoming walkers to join us to get on the move for a good cause. Our goal is to give every person the best possible experience of NHS care and we can’t wait to bring people together in September to help make us make a huge difference to local health services.
“We know how important outdoor spaces are for wellbeing – especially for people living with dementia. The Memory Lane Garden will be a place of comfort and dignity and Move for Good is a powerful way for our community to help make it happen.”
Participants will receive a Move for Good t-shirt, medal, and fundraising support pack. There will also be refreshments and volunteer cheer points along the route to keep spirits high.
