How to access care during ambulance service strike action

Today, Wednesday 21 December, there will be fewer ambulances on the road due to strike action.

Patients whose conditions are non-life-threatening are unlikely to get an ambulance on this day and are advised to use NHS 111 online and – if required - arrange alternative transport to hospital.

A number of trade unions have announced national strikes in the run-up to Christmas in the ongoing pay dispute with the government. We recognise the rights of staff to strike, however the majority of union members did not vote for industrial action at our Trust in Croydon.
