Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event success – well done to all involved!
Our Macmillan Cancer Support World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event at Croydon University Hospital, held on Friday 28 September raised in excess of a staggering £4,000, which was more than last year’s record breaking amount.
This year’s Star Baker competition winner was Emily Crane from our e-RS team. The competition was judged by non-executive director Dr James Gilgrass and his wife Mary.
Special commendations for their culinary efforts were given to Sally O’Connell e-RS/Outpatients Services Manager and Daniel Pople in the Communications Team.
Macmillan Cancer Support charity work in partnership with the trust, to provide care and support for our cancer patients. Eight job roles at CHS are currently funded by the charity.
Money for the coffee morning was raised through cake and drink sales, generous donations, a raffle, a charity auction, a guess the sandwich size competition and charity stall sales.
As well as thanking our patients, volunteers and staff, we would also like to thank all organisations that contributed towards the success of the event, including Galiford-Try, Compass, M&S, Just Gems in Tooting, Harvard Aviation and Croydon Mosque & Islamic Centre.
