National Day of Reflection | Poem by Chloe Kerwood

Chloe Kerwood shares a heartfelt poem honouring the care and compassion shown by NHS staff during some of the most difficult days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As we recognise today’s National Day of Reflection, we look back over a year of national lockdown and remember those we have lost, the challenges we have faced and think about our hopes for the future.

Across the Trust and across the borough, frontline workers have gone above and beyond to care for our community throughout this pandemic, and for that we will be forever proud of #TeamCroydon

Today, on the Day of Reflection, we remember every single one of the lives lost to COVID-19 and are thankful for your continued bravery and resilience of our staff.

We are grateful for the many messages of thanks from local people and the generosity of those who have helped us keep our teams cared for throughout the pandemic. Finally, we would like to say thank you tor everyone who has helped to keep our community safe from coronavirus by staying at home, following ‘hands face space’ and by getting the COVID vaccine when the NHS calls.

For this, and for many reasons more, you are all heroes and as we reflect on what we have lost, let us be thankful for what we have gained, a community who is united in its kindness and its care for others.

Thank you

#TeamCroydon
