Hospital sexual health clinic
The sexual health clinic at Croydon University Hospital provides a fully comprehensive sexual health outpatients service, offering open access ‘Walk-in’ clinics every weekday as well as options for pre-booking.
The sexual health clinic has its own dedicated entrance on the London Road. Specialist services include:
The Point
- Tuesdays - 3pm-5.45pm
- Walk-in service for 18 year olds and under
HIV services (Heath Clinic)
The HIV team manages a cohort of about 700 HIV positive patients including the facility for inpatient care. We offer point-of-care HIV testing with results in 15 minutes.
Community contraception and sexual health
The service operates a walk-in and wait service providing contraception advice and supplies as well as sexual health advice. There are also specialist clinics available on an appointment basis.
The Contraception and Sexual Health (CASH) service is based at the Edridge Road Community Health Centre on Edridge Road. Services are also available at our outreach clinic at Parkway Health Centre.
- Condoms
- Oral contraception – combined oral pill and progestogen only pill
- Sub dermal Implant – insertion and removal
- IUD / IUS (coil) – insertion and removal
- Injectable methods of contraception
Other services include –
- Chlamydia testing
- Pregnancy testing
- Abortion advice/referral
- Natural family planning – by referral only
- Domiciliary service for young people and those who have difficulty in accessing the clinics
- Psych-sexual counselling - by referral and appointment

Can I pre-book an appointment?
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8.30am you can book an appointment to be seen later the same day by calling 020 8401 3002
How long do I have to wait if I just walk-in?
We aim to make your waiting time as short as possible. Please allow at least one hour for your visit, at busy times it may take longer. If you cannot wait, please speak to a member of staff who will let you know what options you have.
What are the options if I need advice after the clinic is closed?
If the clinic is closed and you need to be seen urgently, you can:
- Contact your GP or call NHS Direct 0845 46 47
- Go to the Accident and Emergency department at Croydon University Hospital (Mayday Road entrance)
