Purley War Memorial Hospital

Purley Eye Unit

Purley War Memorial Hospital reopened in July 2013 after an £ 11.15m refurbishment. The hospital sees around 3,000 patient attendances each month with plans to increase this to 7,500 per month by the end of March 2014.

The hospital is now a 21st century healthcare facility for central Purley creating a new centre for integrated care services that brings care closer to home to the thousands of people who live in the area.

Purley War Memorial Hospital has:

  • Urgent Care Centre (UCC), open 8am to 8pm
  • Diagnostic services including Digital X-Ray, DEXA and ultrasound
  • Outpatients clinics

The hospital provides the following care:

  • around 78,000 people as outpatients each year 
  • approximately 12,000 Urgent Care Centre attendances every year
  • the Keston House medical practice, run by local GPs, will open on site from January 2014

The hospital is located in central Purley and there are a number of shops, restaurants and snack bars within a few minutes’ walk from the site.
