The Croydon Sexual Health Centre provides a free, comprehensive and confidential sexual health service including:

  • Testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
  • Treatment of other genital infections
  • HIV testing, treatment and care
  • Same day HIV testing (POCT)
  • Treatment following sexual exposure to HIV (PEPSE)
  • Emergency contraception
  • Abortion advice and referral
  • Counselling
  • Specialist clinic for young people 18 years and under (The Point Clinic)
  • Tests results via text

HIV services (Heath Clinic)

The HIV team manages a cohort of about 850 HIV positive patients including the facility for inpatient care.

Contraception and Sexual Health Service (CASH)

The service operates a walk-in and wait service providing contraception advice and supplies as well as sexual health advice. There are also specialist clinics available on an appointment basis.

The Contraception and Sexual Health (CASH) service is based at the Edridge Road Community Health Centre on Edridge Road. 

  • Condoms
  • Oral contraception – combined oral pill and progestogen  only pill
  • Sub dermal Implant – insertion and removal
  • IUD / IUS (coil) – insertion and removal
  • Injectable methods of contraception

Other services include –

  • Chlamydia testing
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Abortion advice/referral
  • Natural family planning – by referral only
  • Domiciliary service for young people and those who have difficulty in accessing the clinics 

We aim to make waiting times as short as possible. You should allow at least one hour for your visit. At busy times this might take longer.

Implant Clinic

Consultations are required prior to having an implant fitted or removed. Once you have had your consultation, we are then able to arrange your implant removal or fitting for you.

CASH Domiciliary Contraception Service is only available to Croydon Residents aged 25 years or under. Others should be signposted to an appropriate service. Contact nurse on 07773976488


IUD Clinic


Previously failed IUD/IUS insertion or removal, and deep subdermal implants - please fax referral to Dr Priya Thayaparan 020 8680 4173, enclosing scan results where appropriate.
