Ricardo Pires Nevado

Emergency department nurse

Ricardo moved to Croydon when a colleague told him about the challenge of A&E nursing. Ricardo was clear that his passion lay in the life saving work of emergency care and had heard that Croydon was a great place to progress.

“Croydon is busy and can be tough, but working here has given me the opportunity to grow as a nurse. I started out as a Band five nurse and within 18 months have progressed to Band six charge nurse – there are few places that recognise hard-work and innovation so readily. I’ve lots of my own ideas about how we can improve what we do for patients and there’s lots of people willing to listen.”
