Colposcopy

Overview

We examine women who have abnormal smears as well as those who have signs and symptoms of pre-cancerous abnormalities in the lower genital tract. We investigate women with abnormal smears, and provide treatments under local anaesthetics to remove or destroy the abnormal area.

We also perform smears, particularly on women who have had cervical abnormalities/pre-cancerous changes, and women from whom there are difficulties obtaining a smear.

We also perform biopsies (small tissue samples) from the lower genital tract under local anaesthetics and perform some minor procedures such as coil fittings.
