GP advice service

Croydon GPs can contact a consultant cardiologist for advice about the clinical care of any patient.

This innovative email and telephone question and answer service aims to support GPs offering the right treatment and referral decisions for their patients.

Consultant time is reserved every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon between 12.30pm and 2.30pm to respond to GPs questions by telephone or email.

Telephone calls can expect to take 15 minutes and GPs should provide a telephone number which should ideally be a mobile number.

GPs will be able to access the service by posing their questions through a secure NHS mail connection.  Supporting information such as test reports should either be attached to the email and sent to the cardiology advice service or sent by fax, to enable an informed discussion to take place.

How it works

  1.  GPs send question and supporting information via email or fax
  2. Consultant cardiologist will review the information
  3. GP will receive a call or email reply
