Treatment

Both teams works closely with families and staff from a wide range of agencies and disciplines.

Following a period of assessment  the Physiotherapist will usually provide a home and / or school exercise programme to maximise a child’s functional ability.  Treatment may include group or 1 to 1 physiotherapy sessions, hydrotherapy sessions and/or the use of equipment.

Physiotherapists also provide:

  • Advice on physical activity, particularly where this is limited by a physical disability or delayed motor skills
  • Standing and walking equipment which allows a child to stand supported or walk supported by a walker
  • Orthotics (splints and specialist footwear), if required
