Croydon Health Services NHS Trust has exceeded the annual national target of 70% for its proportion of patient-facing staff vaccinated against flu. This is an important achievement which greatly helps protect staff and patients from the dangerous virus.

Croydon hospital chapel is uncovering the history of its stained glass servicemen who died 100 years ago

The local history of servicemen who died in the First World War has been rediscovered by the senior chaplain of Croydon University Hospital. Amateur historian Revd Hilary Fife is calling on local residents to help her complete the history of the 19 servicemen, who are commemorated and individually named in the stained glass of St Barnabas Chapel in Croydon University Hospital.

On 20 August 2017 Croydon University Hospital opened a new Resuscitation Department, providing patients in ‘life or death’ emergencies with almost twice as many beds (from five to eight) and a range of upgrades. It is also better located, as it is next to the X-Ray Department and very close to CT scanners.

Major £1.2 million upgrade to Croydon’s cardiology care

Croydon University Hospital has moved all of its cardiology care under one roof in a major £1.2 million upgrade. Patients will now benefit from £188,000 of upgraded equipment and a £1 million purpose-built Croydon Heart Centre. It is located on-site behind the main reception area, in the London Wing (the Blue Zone on hospital maps).
