Maternity Services
Maternity Services Caring for women before, during and after the birth of their baby at hospital or at home.
Preparing to have your baby Throughout your pregnancy, your GP and our midwives and doctors will look after you together.
Life as a new parent If you have had your baby in hospital, our midwives will look after you until you go home, and keep an eye on you and your baby for a little while. Once you’ve had your baby, one of our health visitors will be in touch to arrange a new birth visit when your baby is around two weeks of age.
Your birth choices We offer parents-to-be a range of ways to get the information and support they need.
Home Birth If having your baby at home feels like the right choice for you, we’re here to support you.
Birth Centre The centre is set up for women with uncomplicated pregnancies who are expecting a straight-forward labour and birth. Women who choose the birth centre are more likely to have a normal birth.
Delivery Suite The delivery suite has eleven labour rooms, ensuite facilities, bright, fresh décor, with dimmable lighting, individual temperature control and comfort cooling.
Additional Support Experienced consultant obstetricians, anaesthetists, first-rate special care baby unit.
