Jayne Black to stand down as Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer of Croydon Health Services
29 January 2018

After more than three years of excellent service as both Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Office at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust (CHS), Jayne Black will be moving on.

Jayne will continue until April 2018 and then join Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust as its Chief Operating Officer on 24 April.

Michael Bell, Chair of CHS, said:

“We are very sorry Jayne is leaving but pleased she will continue serving the NHS. Her robust coordination of clinical teams has helped us maintain some of London’s best waiting times in emergency and cancer care - and our new £21.25m Emergency Department, which opens this year, would not have happened without her. Colleagues throughout the Trust will miss her.

“Jayne is an impressive act to follow and we need to work very closely with the NHS Leadership Academy, who will help the Trust to find a successor. This is a big opportunity for the right person, as we serve one of London’s fastest growing and most diverse boroughs.”

Jayne Black said:

“This was not an easy decision, but I am looking forward to working closer to home and taking on new challenges. It has been a privilege to work among so many dedicated colleagues at CHS. None of our successes were possible without the Croydon team spirit that I have seen go from strength to strength in my time here. Staff at CHS place the health and care of people in Croydon at the heart of everything they do, and it will be exciting to see how this continues to grow in the years to come.”
