Treatments
Podiatrists treat corns and callouses, foot ulcers and ingrowing toenails. They also provide the following services:
- Nail assessment and nail surgery, requiring a GP referral.
- Biomechanics to correct and improve foot problems and abnormal gait through the prescription of orthotics/insoles. This service requires a GP or health professional referral.
- Foot ulcer clinics.
- Learning Disability – we have a dedicated podiatrist that treats people with a learning disability and that require podiatry, mainly in their own homes.
- Mental Health – we provide a service to people with mental health problems at Bethlam and Maudsley Hospital, or in their residential home.
- Domiciliary Service, for patients that are housebound, and a service to residential care and nursing homes.
