Orthopaedic Trauma Appointments

Once your appointment has been booked with us, you should receive a letter
confirming the time, date and location. Please note the hospital you are due to attend may be Croydon Hospital or Purley War Memorial Hospital.  Please check your appointment letter for the right location.

What do I do if I haven’t received my appointment yet?

Please contact the fracture clerks on 020 8401 3483.

What do I do if I want to change or cancel an appointment?

If you are uncertain about any of this information, or you are unable to keep your appointment, please call the number on your letter or the Patient Access Centre on 020 8401 3001.

If you wish to cancel your appointment by e-mail you can do so by sending your information to opdcancel@croydonhealth.nhs.uk

What should I bring to my appointment?

  • Your appointment notification letter and any other information that we may have sent you.
  • a list of any medication you are currently taking,  including any alternative remedies or herbal medicines
  • Your appointment letter may also ask you to bring certain items with you, or you may have a questionnaire to bring to your appointment.  If you require help to fill in your questionnaire, please ask the receptionist on your arrival, who will arrange this for you.
  • information about any change in your personal details, such as a new address, a new GP, or a different next of kin
  • proof of entitlement to free prescriptions, if applicable (eg unemployment benefit documents, medicalexemption card, or proof you are under 16)

What time should I arrive for my appointment?

Please try to arrive on time for your appointment.  If driving to the hospital you will need to leave enough time to find a parking space. If you arrive late, people who are on time may be seen before you.

We try to keep waits as short as possible, but it may be necessary to fit in urgent cases to the clinic schedule which can cause delays. If this happens you will be told by the clinic nurse/receptionist.
