14.00 hrs - 17.00 hrs  (2 - 5pm)

18.00 hrs - 20.00 hrs. (6 - 8pm)

Some wards and specialist departments (e.g. children's and maternity wards) have their own times, so please check with the ward if you are planning a visit.

Visitors are limited to 2 per bed at any one time. If more people need to visit at one time please check with the nurse-in-charge. Children are welcome but they remain the responsibility of the adult visitor. It is suggested that visits, which include children, should be limited to a maximum of 30 minutes."

If you are visiting a ward please pay particular attention to any infection control instructions.

Acute Medical Unit (AMU)

Additional information: Opened in November 2012 the AMU provides care for acutely ill adult patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patients coming from Accident and Emegency (A&E) or from their own GP can have tests and observations before either being admitted to a specialist ward or discharged safely.

The AMU has 6 single sex bays with six beds in each bay and and 6 ensuite single rooms. There is also an assessment area, treatment area, dispensing pharmacy and consulting rooms. From December 2012 there will also be a Radiology Imaging Centre in the unit.
