Library Services

We provide library and knowledge services for all NHS staff working in Croydon.

We advise that patients, carers and the public use www.nhs.uk for healthcare information. In exceptional circumstances we recommend that patients use our services in conjunction with a member of clinical staff

NHS staff need a valid NHS ID badge to join the library.

Croydon Health Services (CHS) staff can access the full functionality of the catalogue by registering with the library. View your loans, request renewals, request literature searches and articles via the catalogue.

Book self issue is available in the library. Contact library staff to set up your pin access.

Our qualified library staff provide an in-depth, specialist, evidence based literature searching service for all Croydon Health Services staff.

Study spaces, IT facilities

At the acute site, CHS staff can take advantage of:

• Wifi network for your mobile device (charged)
• Networked PCs (accessible with a Trust log-in)
• Printing (charged)
• Photocopying - including colour (charged)
• Scanners
• Study spaces and reading areas
• Withdrawn library books are often for sale
• Café in PGMC adjacent to library
• Self issue is available in the library

The library is in the postgraduate medical centre (PGMC) on the first floor of the yellow zone at Croydon University Hospital.

Core staffed hours 9 – 5pm Monday - Friday.

In addition a member of library staff is usually available from 8.30am

We are closed over the Christmas and Easter break and on English Bank Holidays.
